MEDAWEL final conference - Jordan
Under the patronage of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, the final conference of MEDAWEL Tempus project was held.
A representatives of the project’s partners from Scotland, Ireland, Spain, Egypt, Lebanon and Palestine attended the conference which was convened by Princess Sumaya University for Technology over two days from 12th -13th October, 2015 in addition to the Jordanian universities representatives.
The opening speech was presented by Prof. Walid Salameh, the coordinator of project, who welcomed the participants and presented an overview about MEDAWEL project and its achievements in providing the better services for the students in the partners’ institutions, referring to the role of these services being a stimulator to the students to feel and act as a part of their universities.
Prof. Ahmad Abu Alhaija, Director of National Erasmus+ Office (NEO), Jordan, presented a brief about ERASMUS projects and its role in students’ services.
After that, HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan spoke about PSUT being an active partner that operating three "FP7" projects and 14 ongoing projects including four for Tempus; in addition to the university's participation in the scientific exchange programs Erasmus Mundus. HRH expressed her eagerness to expand such activities to participate in this fruitful efforts that aim to involve students in the university life and promote the sense of belonging to their universities.
Over two days many presentations and discussions took place whereas participants shared their experiences and best practices on a wide range of topics and it all added up to a very successful days. Worth mentioning that the project came out with a booklet guide on the optimum student services that will be distributed to all Arab universities.
